Send a Command to the Motes

This page enables you to send configuration commands to the motes, and to poll for routing statistics. The commands are sent by a broadcast message which is then flooded throughout the network.

Get / Set RF Power

Get the actual RF power setting from the motes.
Cluster 1
Cluster 2

Set the new RF power on the mote to dBm. Valid values are from -20dBm to 10dBm.

Cluster 2

Set Sampling Rate

Set the sampling rate to miliseconds.
Cluster 1
Cluster 2

Sleep / Wakeup

Let all the motes sleep. In this state, the motes will not poll their sensors and report sensor values back to the basestation.
Cluster 1
Cluster 2

Wake up all the motes from sleep state. Motes which were set to poll their sensors will resume reporting sensor values.

Cluster 2

Start / Stop Sensing

Note that the default state of a mote is not to poll its sensors. Therefore you have to first start sensing on the motes which have a sensor board connected or else no sensor values will be reported back to the basestation.

Tell mote with address to stop polling its sensors.
Cluster 1
Cluster 2

Tell mote with address to resume polling its sensors.

Get / Set Sensor Flags

Get the actual sensor flag from the motes.

Set Listening/Transmit Mode

This command sets the listening and transmit mode for the motes. Valid values are from 0 to 6. They correspond to:

value duty cycle max packets effective throughput
0100% duty cycle42.93 packets/sec12.364kbps
135.5% duty cycle19.69 packets/sec5.671kbps
211.5% duty cycle 8.64 packets/sec2.488kbps
37.53% duty cycle6.03 packets/sec 1.737kbps
45.61% duty cycle 4.64 packets/sec1.336kbps
52.22% duty cycle 1.94 packets/sec 0.559kbps
61.00% duty cycle 0.89 packets/sec 0.258kbps

Reset Broadcast Sequence Number

It can happen, that the motes get out of sync with their sequence number. In that case, this command allows to reset the sequence number of all motes to -32767.
